OFSTED
R.E. National Society Inspection January 2009
On January 9th 2009, we were visited by Mrs. Lyn Field, an inspector from The National RE Society who had come to our school for an R.E inspection!
Mrs. Field spent the whole day looking at how well we teach RE and Spirituality. She spent every single second either with children, parents, teachers or Governors. She even ate her lunch with us!
We were all Spick and Span, our collars were out where they should be, our polo shirts where tucked in, our shoes were polished and we were on our most PERFECT behaviour - all day!
Mrs. Field spent time watching our Big Friday assembly and she actually whispered to a child in Year Six "Does this happen every week or is it just special for today?" The answer was "Oh, this happens every week and we love it!" We sang "We Three Kings" as we were thinking about Epiphany. Mrs. Field also liked the awards of Teacher Angel and Buster as well as the Team Points results and The Window on the World.
Mrs. Field met with two Governors: Father Bradley (Chairman of Governors) and Lt. Col. Anton Young (Vice Chairman of Governors) and also some parents (Mrs. Nwosu, Mrs. Capon, Mrs. Javed, Mrs. Martin-Zakheim and Mrs. Hyland) who spoke about how positive they felt about our lovely school.
We were delighted that Mrs. Field felt that our school was "a little gem" and found that we were Outstanding.
This meant that for both the OFSTED and RE inspections, St. Saviour's School has been made Outsatanding - hurray!
