Admissions to St. Saviour’s School is based upon the criteria that the Governors set each year. This emphasises their wish to provide places for children whose family has a commitment to regular worship.
Places are restricted to 30 per class and there are 8 classes in the school. The maximum admission number is 240.
Admission to the Nursery and Reception Classes
Most parents apply for their children to be admitted into the Nursery class. There are two points of entry to this class, in September and January. This is dependent on birthdays with children born between September and February starting in September and those born from March to August starting in January.
There is not automatic right to a place in the Reception class. This is in common with all other schools in England and Wales. However, most children in the Nursery class do move up to Reception as they have very strong references from their Priests or Vicars. It is less likely for new children to be offered places in this class as demand is high.
When should we register our Child ? Your child will start Nursery once they are three and a half years old. This could be in the September or the January intake, depending on their date of birth. You will need to register your child at around 24 months, to ensure s/he is on the waiting list. Admission forms for Nursery and Reception are sent to parents in the January / February before the start of the new year. There is a common closing date with all other Westminster Schools and this is usually at the beginning of March. The Governors’ Admissions Committee meet shortly after this time and offer places in strict accordance with the School’s published criteria.
If you would like to register your child, please submit the request for an Application Form and submit this to the school office. This will be sent to you in good time for the closing date.
